Pet Friendly Wineries to Visit in Northern Michigan

Pet Friendly Wineries Northern Michigan
February 2, 2026

There’s no better way to enjoy Northern Michigan’s beauty than with a glass of wine in hand and your best furry friend by your side. At Omnivet, we love seeing pets join in on their family’s adventures — especially when it means making the most of our region’s beautiful outdoor spaces. As the leaves turn vibrant shades of gold, red, and amber, it’s the perfect time to explore some of the region’s most pet-friendly wineries — places that welcome wagging tails right alongside their guests.

Whether you’re planning a cozy weekend getaway or a spontaneous day trip, here are a few of our favorite spots where you and your pup can sip, stroll, and soak in the season together.

1. Black Star Farms

Suttons Bay Tasting Room: 10844 E Revold Road, Suttons Bay, Michigan 49682

Traverse City Tasting Room: 360 McKinley Road E. Traverse City, MI 49686

With two tasting room locations in Northern Michigan, there is so much to explore at Black Star Farms. Dogs are welcome anywhere on the outdoor grounds and patios, making it a perfect stop for pet-loving wine enthusiasts. Their scenic estate trails and open spaces make it easy to explore with your four-legged companion.

Keep an eye out for their dog-centered events throughout the year, too!

2. Bowers Harbor Vineyards

2896 Bowers Harbor Road, Traverse City MI 49686

If your perfect fall afternoon includes a glass of wine, a cozy sweater, and a spectacular sunset, then Bowers Harbor Vineyards is your spot. Overlooking rows of vines with Lake Michigan in the distance, this vineyard offers breathtaking views and a warm welcome to families and canine visitors. Fun fact : Their vineyard dogs are featured on many of their wines!

Grab a spot on the patio, breathe in that crisp autumn air, and enjoy a peaceful evening with your pup curled up at your feet.

3. Mari Vineyards

8175 Center Road Traverse City, MI 49686

At Mari Vineyards, dogs are welcome to join their owners on the patio and lawn areas, making it an ideal stop for those who love to sip outdoors. Pups can enjoy complimentary water bowls, treats, and even a dedicated dog run across the street — a thoughtful touch for visiting pet parents!

Just remember to keep your furry friends leashed and supervised while exploring the grounds.

4. Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery

3309 Blue Water Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686

Brys Estate features a beautiful, dog-friendly Lawn Bar that welcomes visitors in nearly every season. During the summer and fall, guests can relax in various seating areas, enjoy a glass of wine and food options, and even play a game of cornhole. In the winter, dogs are welcome to join their owners by the cozy firepits or along the Winter Trail — a scenic 1- to 1.5-mile loop around the estate that can be enjoyed on foot, snowshoes, or cross-country skis, all with a glass of wine in hand.

Capture the Fun

So, grab the leash, pack some treats, and get ready to make the most of the beautiful seasons that Michigan has to offer. Cheers to wine, wagging tails, and Northern Michigan magic!
