TPLO Surgery Program

A torn cranial cruciate ligament (often called a dog’s “ACL”) is one of the most common orthopedic injuries we see in Northern Michigan dogs. Left unstable, the knee continues to experience pain, inflammation, and progressive arthritis. Over time, additional damage such as meniscal injury can occur, making recovery more difficult.

At Omnivet, we have built a dedicated TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) program focused on timely stabilization, meticulous surgical care, and continuous follow-up with the same doctor throughout the entire process.

Why Timeliness Matters

The single most important factor in long-term outcome after a cruciate tear is how quickly the knee is stabilized. The longer the joint remains unstable, the more arthritis and secondary damage develop.

We are able to offer:
  • Same-week TPLO consultations
  • Surgery often scheduled the following week
  • Rapid intervention that helps limit long-term joint damage

Continuous Care with One Surgeon

From consultation to surgery to every recheck visit, your dog is cared for by the same veterinarian. This continuity allows for:

  • Consistent communication
  • Thoughtful surgical planning
  • Familiarity with your dog’s recovery at every stage

Built for Northern Michigan Dogs and Families

This is not an occasional surgery day. This is a year-round orthopedic program designed so families do not have to travel downstate or face long wait times to access advanced cruciate care.

Post-Operative Accessibility

After TPLO surgery, questions are normal. Swelling, limping, or incision concerns can be stressful for pet owners. If concerns arise, your dog can be seen promptly by the surgeon who performed the procedure.

Thoughtful, Unhurried Surgery Days

We intentionally limit the number of TPLO procedures performed in a day to allow for careful planning, focused surgical time, and attentive recovery monitoring.

Affordable Access to Gold-Standard Care

We believe cost should not be a barrier to proper cruciate repair. Our TPLO program is priced to make advanced orthopedic surgery more accessible while maintaining the highest standard of care.

Timely surgery. Continuous care. A local surgeon you know.
